and I especially love the detailed ink-drawings on those outer circles

which I believe are German (the torn bottom left corner of the box I would guess says Hamburg)

Antique Carved Pine Ball in Cage Rattle Whimsy with Marvelous Patina tiny architecture This is a really niceQuite an old one, with bulb handles on either end which make me think it was made to be a rattle, easy to grab a hold of and wave, or throw, around. Amazing patina to the pine wood, with a great warm presence that one feels accrued as it was passed along from one generation to the next to the next. 5 1 2" l x 7 8" wide and deep. It shows plenty of age and wear but is in very good condition, with no splits or cracks or other issues.
