Lovely Antique Carved Cherry and Horn Pie Crimper folk art penguin I find this second grader's

I find this second grader's drawing from 1945 really pretty touching--I'd guess created while his father was on leave from WWII

I just can't get enough of these early clay billiard balls

with just a little cracking to the surface of the wood visible here and there

Lovely Antique Carved Cherry and Horn Pie Crimper folk art penguin I find this second grader'sI love an old pie crimper, and the super clean, elegant lines of the handle on this one, carved of cherry I believe, completely sold me on it. Based on the form I might guess earlier than later 19th c. With a carved horn wheel. 5 1 8 l. 5 8 wide and deep handle. 1 1 2 wheel. Very good condition, with a couple of tiny holes in the horn along the perimeter of the wheel, which does not impact smooth rolling. The wood is gorgeous.
