This is one of the original prop helmets used during the filming of "Saving Private Ryan". There are original property department stamps on the inside of the shell, and the outside was painted with Naval Beach Battalion marking on the front. The shell itself appears to be an original M1 shell, but lack of visible markings makes it difficult to determine manufacturer. The helmet was reconditioned for film use, fitted
