Japanese Painted Papier Mache Girl With Lion-Dog Vintage Tabletop Sculpture Sparta pottery are just fantastic — aThis charming papier mch sculpture of Asian girl and lion dog I believe is mid century Japanese. The hand painted details are really wonderful, from the pink cheeks and detailed bib of the little girl to, especially, the mane and ears of her lion dog companion, a mythological creature considered a guardian figure in Japanese culture and a popular subject in Japanese papier mch.
