This is a very worn, heavily service used Union cavalry trooper's curved M 1860 saber likely made by Emerson & Silver of Trenton, New Jersey. It is in fair honest matured condition. The markings are almost all gone and the hilt shows a very tarnished patina with material loss in the leather of the grip and the wire being almost entirely gone.
