1936 Elgin, Illinois Silver Commemorative Half Dollar - Brilliant Uncirculated Bronze Marked 14KGrade: Brilliant Uncirculated Though originally conceived as commemorative for the 100th anniversary of the founding of Elgin, the proceeds from this commemorative were used to finance the Pioneer Memorial statue in Elgin. The obverse displays the bust of a bearded Pioneer man while the reverse is dominated by a representation of the statue which the coin helped finance. Mintage: 20,015
