This is one of three 5" x 7" glass plate negatives in the shop capturing arrangements of roses in various settings

with the flap at top catching the nails around the perimeter as it goes

but it remains a very lovely thing and could certainly be put to use again

I assume made by a kid in art class, though perhaps by a folk artist with a lot of heart, hes got a brilliant humanity, with these black painted eyes with deep holes for the pupils at their centers, and then exuberantly incised lines for feathers all over.
