This is a tremendous example of a WWII Era Mameluke Marine officers sword named to Major Michael McGinnis Mahoney, who was Killed in Action as the result of a plane crash on 23 October 1942 near Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. The sword features lovely ivoroid grip scales that are still in great condition, with minor cracking and some yellowing. The sword has developed a gorgeous patina over the years. The Mameluke
