to which shading and additional detail was then added—here right down to patterning on the veins of the leaves and very tiny lower wings of the smaller butterfly here

and the thickly laid paint that makes it quite visceral—you can just feel the scraping of the palette knife on the creamy white roofs of the house/barn

The driver's seat and steering wheel are long gone (and perhaps a driver too), but I really like the lines of it as it stands and rolls now. German or American, I'm not entirely sure, c. early 20th century. 7 5 8" x 2 7 8" x 2 3 4" t. No seat or steering wheel as evident. As is, great color, great surface,
