Per NARA records, Cary was born 1919 in Michigan, and enlisted in the U. S. Army in Kalamazoo, Michigan on April 21st, 1942. The letter itself id dated May 25, 1945, and indicates that at the time Cary's posting was: Battery A. (Security Detach.) 353
