Description

The wood is worn thinner on the front where the latch closes

A great addition to a collection of Southern pottery (or any pottery

a mythological creature considered a guardian figure in Japanese culture and a popular subject in Japanese papier-mâché

and for me makes this about the most tender and heartfelt whimsy that I've seen

Woman with Hand on Pedestal 1923 Pencil Drawing by Charles Martin drawing of man in profile The wood is worn thinnerFrom her ringlets, to her pearls, to the drape of her shawl, to her bangled wrist and the way her hand leans on this pedestal, I really love the poise and attitude of this woman! I also like how the drawing perfectly swirls ancient Greece and 1920s America together, making our subject a rather transcendental woman for the ages. Altogether, I must say I find her rather inspiring, and would not want to cross her! 8 3 4" x 5 7 8", pencil on cream paper.
