Pieced Back Italian Gown | Hamilton Blue | 1770 - 1785 MTO Regency Spencer permanently transculturalThis 18th century Italian style gown reflects regional construction techniques that set it apart from its English and French counterparts. Most notably, the front and back seams are shorter and smoother, creating a refined silhouette with less dramatic shaping. The back of the gown features distinctive piecingparticularly at the top of the back panels and along the skirthighlighting both the economy of fabric and the skilled hand of the maker.
