Victorian Carved Shoe with Pinprick Decoration antique bottles and a really great one

and a really great one I think it is

but I'm not placing it

with one small crack in the lacquer on one short side at the very bottom

It's got a great patina and a couple of little chips in the wood that I think just add to its character

Victorian Carved Shoe with Pinprick Decoration antique bottles and a really great oneI believe this one was carved to hold a pin cushion, and certainly could again, but It's a quite an excellent carved shoe exactly as it is. Lovely pin prick type detailing along the sides and back and toe, and an especially nicely done front, with six nails for lacing. Polychromed a reddish brown, perfectly aged. Late 19th early 20th c I believe. 5 1 2" l x 2 7 8" t x 1 1 2" w. Very good antique condition with a great patina.
