This is a great example of a Confederate copy of an Ames Model 1832 Artillery Short sword. This design of foot artillery sword has a straight, heavy double edged steel blade. There is a double fuller, starting just below the hilt with a third longer fuller above, much like the Ames model. The overall blade length is approximately 18''. The hilt and cross guard are cast and partly machined and sand cast brass. The
