This is a nice example of the classic Japanese Type 90 Tetsubo ( "steel cap") army helmet shell, also colloquially called the tetsukabuto ( "steel helmet") by Japanese troops. From what we were told, this was a relic piece excavated at Iwo Jima, but we have no provenance or paperwork to back this up. Features include: Original metal star applied to front.
