This is a somewhat unusual U. S. Remington Rolling Carbine, which we have unfortunately been able to fully identify. The receiver tang is marked E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N. Y., U. S. A, along with the three line patent information, with dates up into 1873 and possibly later. These markings are mostly clear, but unfortunately all other markings on the rifle have been worn away.
