This is a great genuine U. S. M1887 sling. Constructed as a two piece sling not the stitched 2 piece type with brass double claw hook on one end and a brass stud button on the other. There are two leather keeper loops. These were designed for the Springfield Trapdoor or Krag rifles. Condition of leather is fair and brown, has stiffened a bit over time, complete with heavy stitching, proper adjustment holes and
