There is a much fainter 4TH / CAV to the right of this

with Germany only belatedly following the Allies' lead

which has lost almost all of the fuzzy "nap" to the fabric

This is a very rare example of a Silver fork, as used on the personal Deutsches Reichsbahn (German National Railway) dining car used by Reichsmarschall Hermann Gring. While one might expect that the Commander in Chief of the Luftwaffe would fly everywhere, at that time in Europe the king of luxury transportation was still the train, and the personal dining car of Gring would have been an especially extravagant
