1973 Second Place D.C. Armory Dog Show Trophy Plaque by Merle kid cup and then two banded patternsJust a fun one. I am not great with dog species, but I think this is a Rottweiler, and I would guess a portrait of the specific Rottweiler who took second place in the 1973 National Capital "Open Dog" Competition. It appears to be hand painted porcelain, glued I believe to the wooden plaque, and I think would make a pretty nice addition to a wall of dog portraits (or second place prizes!) 7 1 8" x 5" x 7 8" and in great vintage condition.
