Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised leftward facing profile of Grand Duke Friedrich August, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with an inscription of FR TREUE IN DER ARBEIT (FOR FAITHFUL LABOUR), unmarked, measuring 30. 10 mm in diameter, measuring 16. 5 grams,
